Innokenty is a specialist in international corporate and financial law, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions, as well as in direct private investments abroad, foundations and private investment companies (family offices). He has first-hand experience in the banking industry (private banking) and in the field of asset management in the UK.

Innokenty graduated with honors from the International Law Faculty of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), speaks English, Spanish and German. Likewise, holds a Master’s Degree from Stanford Law School. For about 20 years he worked in international law firms (Debevoise & Plimpton, Hogan and Hartson), banking and manufacturing holdings (Standard Bank in London, MDM Group, Unilever Plc), and private investment and trading companies (Crossbridge Capital, Euro Assets Finance) in London, Moscow and Vienna. He has experience in managing his own legal service and consulting business abroad.

Longstanding experience working with large international public and private companies, as well as with investors in various jurisdictions, allows him approach effectively the non-standard tasks set by clients from the moment of starting a business and maintenance to its sale, merger or restructuring. Innokenty has unique experience of managing law firms and consultants in more than 20 foreign jurisdictions (from Cyprus to the USA). He was responsible for the organization and conduct of complex judicial and arbitration proceedings in foreign courts. Innokenty’s directly experience with business owners – high net worth indices, is especially valuable for Russian companies and entrepreneurs with interests abroad.


Successful projects with Innokenty’s direct involvement include, for example:

  • The sale of a controlling stake by a large Russian construction holding to a private English investment company (the total amount of the transaction is more than $100 million);
  • Restructuring of a multimillion loan (using the emission of debt securities) issued by an international company on an advance payment of fuel supplies from the largest oil refinery in India;
  • The establishment of a joint venture with HBO, that resulted in the launch of one of the first Russian streaming channels of legal content;
  • Transaction support for the first asset acquisition in a real estate investment fund located in the UK, established by a Russian investor from the Forbes list;
  • Carrying out a set of measures to protect the interests of an individual from extradition to a country with unfavourable law and order in the field of human rights protection.
Innokenty is the author of a number of articles on the regulation of foreign investment, alternative assets, in particular a monograph published by Stanford University Press on structural financing of intellectual property. He has been a visiting lecturer at the School of Law at Queen Mary University of London for several years, where he teaches LLM programs. Also for 3 years, he was a member of the board of trustees of Calvert 22 Charity Foundation in the UK, which promotes Russian art abroad with the support of VTB Capital Bank.
